Last week, ABI Rehabilitation and Proactive Healthcare were proud to support a number of our kaimahi to attend and present at the Australasian Society for the Study of Brain Impairment (ASSBI) and New Zealand Special Interest Group in Neuropsychology (NZSIGN) Conference held in Ćtautahi Christchurch.
Our teams delivered how-to sessions, oral presentations, and poster presentations covering topics from cultural authenticity in brain injury rehabilitation to concussion recovery through group education and peer support. These presentations reflected our commitment to evidence-based practice and person-centred rehabilitation that recognises the social, cultural, and environmental factors shaping recovery.
A huge congratulations to Te Rina Ruru-Pelasio, MÄori Development Manager, who received the ASSBI/Summer Foundation Lived Experience Award for the session demonstrating the greatest impact on people with lived experience.
We also want to acknowledge Jonathan Armstrong, Director of Allied Health, and Kathryn Murrell, Clinical Neuropsychologist and National Psychology Advisor at ABI Rehabilitation, who co-convened this yearâs conference programme.
ABI Rehabilitation and Proactive Rehab were also proud sponsors of the conference.
